Liberty Rider
The app that detects motorcycle crashes and calls for help. Lead design from early stage to a 1.6 million seed round.
Liberty Rider is a startup that provides services to motorcyclists via its mobile application. Their main service is the automatic detection of motorcycle falls. It uses the phone sensors (GPS, accelerometer) to send an alert in case of danger and call directly the emergency services if the biker does not confirm his condition.
I joined the team in a UX role before gradually taking charge over the whole product design, serving as the only designer handling this project from research to design and delivery. I accompanied this project from v1 to seed funding.
User Research
Being the sole product designer, my approach prioritized efficiency through lean, situational user research focusing on interviews with experts and standard users, surveys, and guerilla user testing. The process emphasized design–test–iterate cycles without overcomplication.
The product had committed core users who provided valuable feedback on issues and solutions.
UX / UI Design
The main challenge involved maintaining product cohesion while the UI evolved and features were tested and introduced.
